![]() I haven't finished the game, but I keep it around for when I want to smash some monsters in the face. If you like a challenge, it lets you basically activate curses that make your life harder, and most maps have some challenges that can only be completed with curses on. There is a story, but I wouldn't say it's the highlight of the game. It has quite a few interesting mechanics like jumping and dodging (you move with the WASD keys). You don't build up a skill tree, but instead get your skills for weapons and other items. There aren't that many build options, and sometimes you have to take skills you never use, but I didn't find it a problem. You have a companion that's tons of fun, and you can build both her and your character. I don't generally like the steampunk theme, but I really liked the atmosphere in this game. Van Helsing is the more story-focused one, and it is indeed a pretty nice story. They're both fun games, but I find them quite different. They tend to have waaay more story and most of them can be played as an ARPG as well. Other than that, check out the c-RPGs out there. If you want a more lorebased game go with Grim Dawn so far. If you want a great story, go with Victor Vran. ![]() TLDR: My favorite is torchlight 2, it's not the best when it comes to the story, but it's the better game in my book. It's quite easy and it can be synced between the computer and the phone quite easily. ![]() someday.Ĭrashland - A neat little approach to a quirky story with a fun dialogue. There's something with this game that made me put it on hold, might have been the cheesy dialogue. I've only played the first one but also bought the second one (don't buy the third if you're listening to the general consensus). Van Helsing - I like it, but I don't love it. ![]() But those 20 hours I've spent playing around changing characters and what not has been worth it. #VICTOR VRAN DIFFICULTY FULL#Oh boy this game will be a gem, but I'm holding of until there's a full release with all the achievements unlocked. Nice dialogue though and somewhat rewarding on higher difficulties. The weapons are a bit more diverse and uncommon but you won't feel that unique when it comes to specialization due to ability of swapping gear and other statistical bonuses on the fly. Victor Vran - Is a nice change of pace, a bit more streamlined maps (think of it as caves in D2). If you're deciding on playing it, go on Elite difficulty (the hardest), it will give you the most satisfaction. It's one of my favorite a-RPGs out there when it comes to the artistic work of music and graphics as well as the modsupport. ![]()
